We're very happy to be bringing you a fine EP from one of our favourite producers around at the moment, namely Stimming. The young Hamburg based artist has been turning things on their head somewhat recently with his maverick approach to house and techno culminating in a series of classic tracks that will definitely stand the test of time. No doubt you'll already have got all hot under the collar to Eiszauber, Funkworm, Radar or his most recent killer Madeleine. If you don't know what I'm going on about then check out one of the freshest labels in the game right now; DIYnamic. Anyway, we wanted in on the action so Stimming got to work on two glorious tracks entitled Short Story and Die Schatulle and here they are. Short Story opens up with a beautifully crafted organic slice of minimal house complete with jazz infused drums and hints of gamelan all drifting along with effortless style. Subterranean sonic trickery lays down the foundation out of which develops the majestic chord progression appearing like an oil tanker from dense fog. Powerful, controlled and very heavy. Next is Die Schatulle, a lesson in deep, electronic house with Stimming's emotive chord work and programming genius coming on show for all to hear. To our ears this is like the best early's melodic techno along the lines of B12 or Speedy J but given an added injection of funk to work the dancefloor. A real end of night gem. Finally, another current producer and label boss making huge waves joins us for remix duties. Federico Molinari is behind the amazing Oslo label and responsible for bringing us Johnny D's Orbital Life and Walkman. His own productions have been a staple in Jimpsters recent sets so we thought it time to grab him for a remix. For his mix of Die Schatulle he strips the whole thing back to basics and gets a ridiculously deep and funky groove on that ll weave a spell when played out loud.
